I’ve gone back and forth on whether to do this, because asking for help like this doesn’t come naturally to me. But at this point, I can’t let pride stand in the way of doing everything I can for my brother.

Many of you know parts of this story already. My brother, Corey, was arrested in 2020 after an incident at his job site. In 2023, he was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

But to us, he is so much more than a case or a conviction. He is a father, a son, and a brother—my best friend. He hasn’t seen his children in six years. And every day he spends in prison is another day away from the people who love him most.

I sat through the trial—not just as his sister, but as someone listening closely to everything that was said. And there were things that never sat right with me. Testimony that changed over time. Details that were inconsistent. A key witness whose statements evolved repeatedly in the years leading up to trial. There were moments that raised real questions for me about how everything was presented and understood.

For the past six years, I’ve stood by him through every step of this—emotionally, financially, and as his only sibling. I’m also a single mom, and balancing life, my kids, and this fight has been overwhelming at times—but giving up on him has never been an option.

Recently, we were informed that his appeal has been dismissed after years of waiting.

Our next step is pursuing Post-Conviction Relief (PCR). This process allows certain aspects of a case to be reviewed more closely and is an important opportunity to ensure everything was handled fairly.

We’ve found an attorney we trust, but the financial burden of moving forward is significant, with upfront costs required to begin.
