Gemma Webster, 46 years old, was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer last January 2018. The oncology doctor advised her to undergo surgery and chemotherapy. Despite the fact that her husband is on permanent disability due to serious health problems, she agreed to all the procedures and treatments they recommended for her. On February 22, she underwent Bilateral (double) Mastectomy then from April to July 2018, she underwent chemotherapy. Gemma is a strong-willed woman who is willing to take any challenges ahead of her. In spite of the side effects of the chemotherapy, in addition to her financial struggles and emotional ups and downs brought by her situation, she finished all her treatments.
She was on short-term (6 months) disability during the course of her treatment and went back to work right after. Three weeks later since she went back to work, she came home with a high-grade fever. Doctors found out she had Urinary Tract Infection. She was on antibiotics for days but then she was still very sick until one morning, she suddenly passed out and was rushed to the hospital. Up until now, doctors have run a series of tests to find out the cause of the viral infection, that caused her health to deteriorate so fast, and most tests came back negative.
Gemma's husband, Tony, has been on permanent disability after going thru open-heart surgery last year. It is heart-wrenching to see both Gemma and Tony, not only struggling physically and emotionally but also, financially.
Please help us raise the needed amount. Any amount will help them alleviate the burdens they're carrying right now. With your help and your prayers, we will lead Gemma on her way to full recovery.
