Hi everyone, I’ve never done a GoFundMe before but I’ve donated to a few. This past month has been a very difficult time for my mom and my family. At the beginning of November, my mom was in the hospital for extremely high blood pressure and blood sugar. They ran some tests and they released her with medication’s to maintain her levels. The morning after her first night back at home she didn’t wake up, she was unresponsive. They rushed her back to the hospital by ambulance where they quickly worked to get her stable. The doctor confirmed that she had a severe stroke due to a blood clot dislodging from somewhere in her body and going to the brain. My mom was closely monitored in the hospital for 2 weeks, with more procedures and tests being performed they found a small brain aneurysm as well. At first, she could not talk and we were told that the left side of her body was going to be paralyzed forever. But with God’s blessing, she started speaking again, and her speech has improved drastically since starting occupational therapy She is now at a rehab facility in Melbourne still working through therapy to be able to walk again on her own. The medication used to shrink the clots in her brain is working and she is slowly gaining more and more of her motor skills back. Unfortunately they cannot confirm where the clots came from but she will be getting a heart monitor implant to keep an eye on things over the next few years. My mom is in good spirits and we are so lucky to have her with us still. Praise God❤️

With all of this being said the medical expenses are outrageous, one of the doctors at Holmes says she is easily a $1 million patient. Unfortunately, the health insurance that her new job provided had not kicked in yet so nothing has been covered, and of course she no longer has that job and will not be able to work in the foreseeable future. The expense for her medication’s alone are about $300 a month, and once she is released there will also be monthly expense for in home therapy to continue her progress. My stepdad works overtime and also has a Lawn Care business that he runs on the weekends, he has always worked very hard for his family. But on a single household income, the struggle is still real with all of these new medical expenses and no insurance yet.

If you are able to give anything at all to help my family, we promise to pay it forward. Thank you for reading and sharing❤️
