Hi, my name is Joe. I have never been the type of guy to ask people for help on my own behalf, but I would do anything for my family, so here we are! I have an amazing wife, a 5 yr old son, 2 year old toddler, and another baby on the way. I had a brain bleed in a very delicate area of my brain - against the stem. We learned that this is a stroke, and if you know me, I’m young and active, lifting weights 5 days a week religiously so this came as a huge shock. The doctors describe it as a cavernoma, which is an irregular mass of red blood cells. Some people have these and it never bleeds. But if it does, like mine, it is likely to re-bleed (which it has done) and could cause more serious damage. This happens to be located on my brain stem and would require a very risky surgery. The funds will help with my hospital stay, many head CTs and MRIs, the cost of brain surgery, and the cost of being out of work while I recover.
