This week, I received heartbreaking news: my beautiful, sassy little sweetie-pie Princess has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Thankfully it's a very treatable form and we have a high chance of success with quick treatment.

I rescued her nearly seven years ago when she was just one and a half and ever since she’s been my constant companion, my little shadow. She’s the kind of cat that wins over even the most die-hard “anti-cat people” with her endless affection, and love of the spotlight, never hissing or hurting, following me room to room and curling up beside me, or nuzzling up under my chin when I lay down.

I think everyone that knows me knows the bond I have with her is very deep, and after losing her brother very suddenly to a more aggressive form of cancer two years ago, I’m more determined than ever to give Princess the best fighting chance.

Thankfully we caught it really early and Princess has a real shot if we can act quickly. She’s just started medication, and in a month, she’ll begin a specialised radioactive iodine treatment. The full cost of her care, including vet visits, diagnostics, medication, and cancer treatment, is estimated at $4979.38 not including the GoFundMe platform fees. I’ve already paid for the initial bloodwork and medication, but we have many follow ups to go to ensure a successful treatment and frankly the timing couldn’t be worse for us financially.

This is such a hard time for us all, I'm not expecting to reach the full goal. But every single donation, no matter the size, helps get her the treatment she needs faster.
