Our Lady Captain Annie Goodchild has a personal Poem about why she has chosen Kidney Research as her chosen charity. Here is her Poem:

I have an invisible friend who follows me everywhere, and refuses to leave even when I am in my home.

This friend is Polycystic Kidney Disease. I don't care for it much though I have known her since turning 40. She is not kind, she attacks with silence. Always without warning she injures my body and runs through my mind. She separates me from the world, no one can see her. Polycystic Kidney Disease is invisible.

She is always with me. I have PKD. This is why I have chosen Kidney Research as my Lady Captains Charity for 2025.
