Becca's Heart Journey

Our 7 month old baby girl was diagnosed as "failure to thrive" a month ago. When we went to the GI doctor, we actually found out it was a cardiac issue. Once she was transported to cardiac ICU, she was diagnosed with ALCAPA syndrome, a rare birth defect affecting blood flow to her heart. She had open heart surgery to repair the deformity, however, her heart has sustained massive damage. She is on a bypass machine and may require a heart transplant.
