Baby Kaylee’s Heart Surgery
Donation protected
As some of you know, Lauren and Mark Simeon’s little girl Kaylee has been struggling with a serious medical condition and is in need of open heart surgery.
At only six weeks, baby Kaylee has severe congestive heart failure. Kaylee has a large ventricular septal defect, a heart condition with only about 200,000 cases a year. This condition is a hole in the bottom chambers of her heart that needs surgical repair. She has already spent one week in the pediatric ICU at Dartmouth in Lebanon. She must be taken to the doctor every other day to be monitored and be seen in Lebanon once a week by her cardiologist.
Her little heart is working too hard and she can’t eat on her own, so she has a feeding tube and is on medication to reduce the fluid buildup in her lungs. She has suffered frequent and severe vomiting, so it’s a battle to keep her healthy, growing, and stable until her surgery date, April 3rd! The surgery is open heart, so she will be in the cardiac ICU at Boston Children’s Hospital for 5 days and her parents will need to stay close by. She’ll need checkups for the rest of her life to make sure her heart stays healthy.
The cost of medical bills, travel, loss of time at work, and overnight stays can be overwhelming during such a challenging time. Lauren and Mark are very giving people who have gone out of their way to help me and many others in times of need. Any donation to ease the burden means a lot. Thank you for your time, your support, and I ask that you keep this little one in your prayers!
