Medical Bills and Expenses

I will say first this is embarrassing and a very low point. I am the first to raise money for others, to help others. I am a mother who is a very active volunteer at our elementary school, involved in the PTA and Girls on the Run. We also are raising our 22 month old granddaughter. I am a past volunteer of a Rescue Squad and the American Red Cross. I always worked, for the last several years as an OSHA Trainer and Industrial Occupational Safety.

But, I have taken ill with a genetic neurological disease called Hemiplegic Migraine. It robbed me of the ability to function for a year a half so I had to stop working but somehow we managed. Recently, it has caused a stroke, seizures, hospital visits and stays, increasing medications and Dr visits, my ability to drive, a genetic test that is Out of Network that is $5415 but will tell the Doctors the right way to treat me, etc.

Of course we have insurance but there are deductibles and co pays and percentages for the hospital stays. Yep, a complete sob story. 

And I feel completely guilty even doing this because I know there are so many people out there with more needs but as I looked at the gas tank tonight, and the bank account, and calculated my husband getting to work and my Doctor appointments...Well, I couldn't figure out anything else to do.
