7,000ft to raise £7,000

My name is Cate and I'm raising money in aid of Duchenne UK to help children and families living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a cause that means so much to me.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a progressive, life-limiting muscle-wasting disease. My brother, Dominic had Duchenne and bravely lived with it until he passed away at 17 in 2021. Losing him was heartbreaking, but I’m determined to honor his memory by doing everything I can to raise awareness and support the fight to end this disease. In 2024, I found out i'm a carrier of this disease which has driven me even more to raise money because my journey with duchenne didn't end when Dom passed away.

For what would have been his 18th birthday, I completed an 18-mile hike and raised money for Duchenne UK. But I don’t want to stop there—this is just the beginning. My next challenge is a 7,000-foot skydive, pushing myself out of my comfort zone to raise even more for this incredible cause. Every donation will help fund crucial research, treatments, and support for families affected by Duchenne.

More about Duchenne UK:
Duchenne UK has one clear goal: to end Duchenne. As the leading DMD charity in the UK, they are driving groundbreaking research and improving care to change the future for those living with this condition. They are moving faster and going further than ever before because this generation of people with Duchenne can’t wait.

Every penny donated brings us closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. If you can, please consider donating or supporting my fundraiser in any way you are able.

Together, we can end Duchenne.
