HONDURAS 2026
For the last 3 years, we, a team of doctors and nurses from Paoli Hospital, has traveled on a medical mission trip to Honduras providing necessary surgeries to those in need through the Holy Family Surgery Center (Honduras - One World Surgery [oneworldsurgery.org]) located on the property of the orphanage Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH).
During the week we are there, our team has, through surgeries and clinic visits, been able to touch numerous lives and giving families new hope. And we are pleased to announce we will be traveling back to Honduras again in February 2026!
The volunteers are responsible for funding their own trip including flights and living expenses and will use their own vacation time. Last year’s Go Fund Me site raised enough funds to offset a third of the costs for the nurses traveling with the team. We are hoping to raise enough funds to offset the same, if not more, of the costs of our January 2026 trip for our nursing team.
Honduras is the second poorest country in Latin America, and many people do not have access to or cannot afford to get medical help. Many of the people we have been treating has been waiting for years for surgeries we all take for granted and most travels from all parts of the country to get help from us. We have also treated patients traveling from other Latin American countries to receive our help.
Our patients mostly travel with bus to get to the clinic, often for several days, and some brings us fresh fruit and/or vegetables from their gardens as a token of their appreciation.
The surgery center has roughly 7000 patients waiting for surgery.
Please considering donating to our Go Fund Me page and help to make this trip a yearly possibility!
Thank you for your consideration and support to our mission!
