70 mile ultra-marathon to support Parkinson's UK

On 15th June I will be running 'The Wall', a 70 mile (113km) ultra marathon along Hadrian's Wall from Carlisle to Newcastle to raise money and awareness for Parkinson's. I have ran two marathons and a 55km ultra marathon before but this will be my biggest challenge by far!

My grandad passed away in 2018 after living with Parkinson's for a number of years. Before his diagnosis he was a funny, enthusiastic and important person in my life but undeniably this debilitating disease took it's toll.

This ultra marathon is more than just a physical feat; it's a tribute to my grandad's strength and an opportunity to make a difference for the millions around the world living with Parkinson's. Parkinson's UK plays a vital role in supporting patients, funding research, and advocating for better treatments and ultimately a cure.

As I lace up my running shoes and train tirelessly for this challenge, I invite you to join me in this journey. Your support, whether through donations, words of encouragement, or spreading awareness, will fuel my determination every step of the way.

More information about Parkinson's UK:
We're close to major breakthroughs. Funding the right research into the most promising treatments, we get closer to a cure every day.

Until then, we're here for everyone affected by Parkinson's. Fighting for fair treatment and better services.

People with Parkinson's, scientists and supporters, fundraisers and families, carers and clinicians, all working side by side. Impatient for change, we're taking a stand, speaking out, chipping in and playing our part.
