7 Week Old Clifford Golden Retriever Emergency Treatment
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Ingrid.
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and a desperate plea for help.
Our 7-week-old Golden Retriever puppy named Clifford recently lost the ability to walk with his back legs. At first, the vet thought it was minor and would heal within a few days but it’s rapidly worsening. He now has paralysis in his back legs and has lost bladder and bowel control. It’s heartbreaking to watch such a young, playful pup suddenly go limp and confused.
After running around many vet clinincs, we’ve been told he's being diagnosed with meningitis, a rare and serious inflammation condition around his spinal cord that severely affects his mobility. The vets have urgently started treatment with antibiotics and steroids, there's hope but the next few weeks are critical. Without this, we’re stuck between euthanasia or surrendering him to a rescue, both of which we want to avoid if there’s any hope.
Unfortunately, as a young puppy, he’s too young to be insured, and the costs of urgent diagnostics and treatment are beyond what we can afford right now. We’ve been told it could extend beyond $10,000 depending on the diagnosis.
We’re setting our goal to cover:
• Initial consultants
• Cerebrospinal fluid tap
• Daily antibiotic and steroid treatment
• Emergency care if his condition deteriorates further
Every single donation, even $5, means the world to us and could give Clifford a real chance at life.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this with someone who might be able to help, and if you’re part of an animal rescue or know someone who may be, please reach out.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We just want to give him the life he deserves, and we don't want to euthanise him without giving him a chance.
With love and gratitude,
Ingrid and Clifford.
