Help 7 library workers pay for legal defense!

We are 7 DC Public Library workers. Our employer is threatening us with imminent suspension without pay, then termination. Why? Because we choose to exercise our human right to say "NO." We choose not to take the Covid vaccine, and now our employer has stated that we are in a state of "non-compliance" with the vaccine mandate. We are also being punished for "insubordination" because we were told to get the vaccine, and we choose not to. We were all initially granted religious exemptions, which our employer later basically just threw out of the window. There has been a mountain of moral and legal improprieties against us in this fight to simply have the right to choose not to get a shot. And now, faced with immediate suspension followed by termination, we need legal counsel and defense. We have found a law firm willing to help us, but it will cost at least $1000 per person ($7000 total) to retain them, which is why our fundraising goal is $10000, enough to cover the $7000 and a little wiggle room. This is less about the vaccine and more about our humanity, dignity, and rights over our own bodies. We are regular, honest, hardworking people. We are fathers, mothers, friends and colleagues. We have families that depend on us. And now, we are depending on the kindness of others to help us raise the money we need to keep our jobs and livelihoods. Thank you.
