Hello everyone,
A group of RWB players will be taking on an incredible challenge: running 7 half marathons in 7 consecutive days — our “7 in 7”.
The challenge kicks off on Sunday 3rd May and finishes in fitting fashion starting at Supermarine Rugby Club, heading to Swindon Rugby Club, and finishing at the Sausage & Cider Festival on the 9th a reward that may or may not undo all the hard work.
We’re doing this to raise money and awareness for sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that one of our own has been diagnosed with this year.
In January, at just 26 years old, Jamie was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of bone cancer. In a matter of weeks, life completely turned upside down. Jamie is now undergoing an intense and demanding treatment journey involving long hospital stays, chemotherapy, significant surgery, radiotherapy, and many months focused entirely on recovery.
Ewing sarcoma is an extremely rare cancer that affects the bones and surrounding soft tissue. Because of its rarity, it is often little understood, but the reality is harsh — treatment is long, complex, and physically and emotionally exhausting.
Through this challenge, we want to stand beside Jamie and help make a difficult journey just that little bit easier.
Any donation, no matter the size, would mean a huge amount. Funds raised will go towards supporting Jamie and contributing to Sarcoma charities, helping both now and for others facing this disease in the future.
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
