On behalf of Aaron and Jessica I want to thank everyone for all the prayers, calls and text messages sent to myself and our family!!! They are greatly appreciated. If not for the blessings bestowed upon us and our faith in JESUS CHRIST we would not be where we are today. It has been a very bumpy road. My family and I would like to recognize the staff of Houston Methodist Hospital for all they have done and continue to do for her. Our prayers are to give GOD all the praise and glory and for her to be able to go home to be a wife and mother. For those of you who don’t know Jess was diagnosed with a disease in her brain called  Pseudotumor Cerebri   in November of 2018. This causes her brain to produce an excess amount of spinal fluid (CSF). The excess Cerebral Spinal Fluid causes pressure in her head. This causes her to sleep for days, have impaired vision, short term memory loss, and need help walking. Jess has had several spinal taps to remove the excess CSF and help relieve the pressure. Her opening pressures have ranged from 19 to 40 and they have pulled as much as 50 ml of fluid out. They operated and placed a Lumbar Shunt in her back which would continuously drain the excess fluid off her brain. Well that only lasted 3 weeks and her body rejected it. She had to go back in and have the second shunt placed in her back. This one lasted about two and a half months. On March 2nd she was brought back in and this Shunt also had been rejected by her body. So she underwent another surgery. This time they replaced it with a Hypoventricular Shunt which goes in her head. This Shunt also drains continuously. She came home on Monday and on Thursday she had to be airlifted to Houston. The scans showed that the Shunt was occluded. Now waiting patiently for surgery yet again. By the grace of GOD they will be able to operate and we pray this will be the last one.
