Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
Hi everyone. Many of you are probably not aware yet but our little brother Fabian Rodriguez (21 years old) was diagnosed with kidney failure in early August.
He had decided he was going to join our Pagosa Springs Fire Department earlier this year as a volunteer. He had been training and working with the amazing men and women in our community. The department requires a physical and blood work to be done to assure good health. When Fabian received a call about his blood work they asked him come in as soon as possible to run a few more tests.
Later that week our family found out his kidneys were only at about 15%. The doctors aren’t sure how long he has been living this way but it’s a miricle that he is with us. The doctors have given him about a year before they believe that his body will begin to go into complete kidney failure. Dialysis is not an option for him being his kidneys are too weak it will do more harm then good.
Between August and September he has lost another 4% of his kidneys and is now running on about 11%. It is very important for us to begin the transplant process as soon as possible.
We are asking for as many donations as possible. This is not going to be a one time expense. There will be many doctor visits, medications, time spent out of Pagosa in hotels and plenty of time off of work.
Anything you all can give will be greatly appreciated. Please remember that if you cannot give right now sharing this link with you’re friends and family will get the word out and is greatly appreciated as well.
Please be sending prayers and lots of love to Fabian and our family.
