Sheila is a single mom determined to fight for the chance to raise her 11 year old son, Armand. She has been fighting since 2010 and could use your help.
It started with breast cancer, which metastasized to her lung, her ovary, and her brain.
In 2014, the doctors removed her ovary. In 2015, they removed the tumors in both lungs. She had a procedure done that has helped shrink her brain tumor. However, her brain tumor is inoperable because of it’s location, and her most recent scan showed that the tumor has grown a half centimeter. She has also had surgery to remove a stage 3 bone spur in her shoulder and a separate surgery to replace discs in her neck. However, she continue to live with daily pain.
Armand is what gives her the strength to keep moving, even though she has wanted to throw in the towel so many times. She does her best to keep his life normal. There are times when she is physically and emotionally wiped out, but you’ll still see her at a book fair, or at a school concert, or in the Spring on any given day of the week you’ll find her at the little league park in town. Her son is respectful and he is kind. He likes to paint, he likes pigs, and he loves to play baseball!
The good news is Sheila is starting a new clinical trial that will hopefully help shrink her Brain tumor. Sheila had to recently return to work but even with health insurance her out of pocket expenses are hundreds of dollars each month. Please assist her in her battle by helping alleviate some of the financial stress associated with her care.
