Home rebuild for NC family who lost everything Helene
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Kim and I am a friend of Jeff and his family. Jeff and his wife both lost their jobs during Covid. Her mother is retired, and their son, daughter-in-law, and 3-year-old granddaughter live with them. They sold their home in LA and moved to NC. Now, 4 years later, they have lost EVERYTHING due to Hurricane Helene. Storm waters rose, flooding the whole downstairs basement and continuing to the first floor, reaching 2 1/2 feet. They were rescued by boat with clothes on their backs and one dog. They were taken to a Red Cross shelter, trying to take it all in. They are thankful to have just lost the material possessions.
They need to replace all of their three vehicles, do a complete rebuild of their home, and replace the appliances, electronics, and furnishings. The community, National Guard, LDS, and surrounding church volunteers have come out to help with the teardown labor. They have been able to rent a condo (probably for a year) for shelter. They, like so many others, have a long road ahead. Please consider donating to ease some of the burden. WATCH HIS STORY on YouTube. It takes a village. Thank you, and it is very much appreciated, more than you could ever imagine.
