In Loving Memory of Brandon

Brandon was only 18 years old.

To say that feels impossible, because to those who loved him, he was still so many things at once. The light-hearted, curly-haired little boy running through the halls and the young man just beginning to step confidently into the life he was building.

From every corner of our family, we experienced Brandon in a thousand different ways, yet we all knew the same truth. He was larger than life. He was full of curiosity, always asking questions about the world around him, eager to understand how things worked and what more life might hold.

He was known for his massive smile and his easy humor. He was goofy in the best way. Playful, warm and gentle. He was such a silly boy, a big teddy bear of a person even as he got older, with the biggest heart and the softest soul.

Brandon was incredibly kind, selfless and always thinking of others. He loved with his whole heart, and his empathy was something our entire family felt. He had a way of sensing when someone needed comfort, laughter or simply not to feel alone.

Brandon was raised by a family that believes deeply in showing up. He grew up surrounded by a village. Grandparents who loved like parents. Aunts who felt like sisters. Siblings who shared everyday life, inside jokes and unconditional love and who knew him as a protective big brother. Cousins who were not just companions but like little brother and sisters to him. And a mother who was not only his mom but also his closest friend. The bond this family shares is extraordinary and Brandon was at the very center of it. Every person around him poured love, guidance and belief into making sure he knew he mattered and that he had every chance to dream beyond his circumstances.

In recent years, Brandon had begun to truly come into himself. He took pride in his appearance, carried himself with growing confidence and stepped into new responsibilities with determination. Those of us who loved him watched a young man begin to believe in himself.

He had recently started his first job and was so proud of himself. He talked with excitement about opening his first bank account, building good credit and one day buying his own car. To our family, it was never just about work. It was about watching him grow, take ownership of his life and begin to see himself the way we always saw him.

Brandon loved simple joys. Anime and video games brought him happiness and he loved getting lost in different worlds, storylines and characters. He loved to talk about the shows he was watching and the YouTubers or streamers he followed, always excited to share what had captured his attention. When he was younger, he loved Disney shows, collecting cool rocks and geodes, shopping, playing outside, being in the water and swimming. He loved really good food and always looked forward to holidays, especially Christmas, which held a special place in his heart. He had such a natural sense of wonder and was still, in so many ways, beautifully naive about how the world worked.

Above all else, he loved his family. As the first boy of the family, he was a long-awaited gift whose presence carried special meaning and was cherished across generations.

Everyone who knew Brandon loved him.

While his time here was far too short, Brandon is now reunited with his father and resting in a place where there is no pain, no fear and no suffering. His spirit lives on in peace, watching over our family who will forever carry him in our hearts.

He leaves behind those whose love for him is immeasurable and whose grief is profound.

If you feel called to contribute, your support will help ease this loss and allow the family to focus on what truly matters. Honoring Brandon’s life and holding one another through this pain. Any contribution, at any level, is a meaningful way to stand beside a family who gave everything to ensure Brandon always knew love.

Thank you for helping honor a beautiful young life that ended far too soon and for being part of the care, compassion and community that Brandon always knew surrounded him.
