Approximately 3 years ago, it was discovered that my brother, Doug, had cancer located under his tongue. Needless to say, I was devastated at the possibility of losing my brother, my only sibling, who is 14 years younger than me. Due to great doctors and medical staff, but more importantly the prayers of many people, this cancer is currently in remission.
However, as a result of the radiation used to treat this cancer, Doug’s teeth were seriously compromised. Since the treatment, he has lost most of his teeth, and the remaining ones must be pulled. His dentist says to properly treat this situation, it will require oral surgery and dental implants to have an anchor on which to affix dentures. The cost would normally exceed $35,000. However, his dentist was kind enough to recommend him to the Dental College of Georgia, in Augusta. He has been accepted into their program, and their cost will be approximately $16,000. He is not able to work, and has had so many medical expenses, he just does not have the funds to have these much needed procedures. During this ordeal, he has lost from 190 pounds down to about 130 pounds. It is very difficult for him to eat and to get the nourishment he needs, on a daily basis, to become healthy again.
Anything you could do, from a monetary standpoint, to help him would be very much appreciated. As always, we would appreciate your prayers for him.
God Bless,
Ralph Pressley
