X-Wing helping Ukraine - Fighting the Evil Empire

The X Wing starfighter has been helping to raise money to support the people of Ukraine in an all too real battle for freedom from imperialism and oppression. You can read more about our efforts in the AJC and CNN articles. Here is the CNN International interview with Eleni Giokos. Also, the website, https://xwingherself.com/, has additional pictures and information about the entire endeavor.
Now, we are trying to do something even bigger, more epic, with the community's help.
All donations go directly to the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America - Georgia Branch. This is a local 501(c)3 non-for-profit volunteer organization that has represented the interests of Ukrainians in the state of Georgia since the late 90s and, as a response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, launched a Fundraiser on the 24th of February 2022. UCCA GA works with vetted volunteers on the ground who can properly allocate supplies where they are needed.
If we reach the $1,000,000 goal, the X-Wing will be donated to the City of Atlanta for public display.
Current status:
- We are also in discussions with the City of Atlanta's major's office and the ATL airport management about donating the X-wing to the city once the fundraiser is over. One of the ideas being considered is to display the X-wing in one of the airport's terminals. Will update this info as soon as the decision is made.
