On Thursday, April 14th, 2022, our wonderful friend Wendy Concepcion was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. Her mother had early-stage breast cancer in 2018, which led her to take a genetic test to find out if she had any breast cancer genes. Unfortunately, she tested positive for the BRCA2 cancer gene. Wendy soon after requested a test for herself and discovered she too had the BRCA2 gene. This gene puts her at a higher risk for breast, ovarian, pancreatic, and skin cancer.

Once the pandemic slowed down, Wendy sought out an oncologist to help her start early screenings. The oncologist thought she might be too young but acknowledging the concern; she scheduled her for a breast sonogram. One sonogram, two mammograms, and two breast biopsies later confirmed malignancy on April 14th, 2022. Her life has been a rollercoaster of emotions since.

Anyone that knows her knows she has the kindest and warmest heart. This diagnosis has not kept her down, and we know she will fight this like a trooper. She has lit up so many lives around her and has a loving spirit.

Wendy is scheduled for five months of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and everything in between. We'd like to help her ease the financial burden on her and her family during the subsequent phases of her treatment. And we'd like to show her how much we appreciate her and the light she's brought to all of our lives.

Wendy dreams of starting a family and continuing her art and admin career. We'd love nothing more than for her to live on and start a family! All funds raised here will go directly to Wendy to help support her fight. So let's help her kick cancer's butt.
