The Fight of Her Life_ A Battle with Leukemia

Donation protected

Myla is fighting everyday! Her spirit is so strong but her body is tired. Please keep her in your prayers. Myla’s mom, Carmen, is living with at St. Jude with Myla and unable to work at this time. This creates many hardships. Your support is the biggest blessing. Thank you for giving.

.............................
As a parent, fighting for our children is innate. When we become parents, a divine fierceness to protect our children plants itself deep inside of us.

We draw from this source for strength in times of battle, on behalf of our children.

We are unrelenting in our pursuits to protect our children, to ensure their health and happiness and to see that they always feel loved.

When tested, we become the fiercest of warriors.

Just like you and me, Carmen is a warrior for her children. I have personally watched her win the hardest of fights.

Today Carmen is presented with a new fight. A fight for her child’s life, against an Acute Myeloid Leukemia diagnosis.

Carmen’s five-year-old little girl, Myla, has begun treatment at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

It’s going to be a long road. The risk of Covid makes this fight exceptionally difficult as the normal support from family wrapped around her isn’t allowed during this time.

Its also Christmas. Carmen would normally be doing last minute gift shopping for Myla and her 12 year-old son, Myles. It should be a time for this family to revel in the miracle of our saviors birth, attend candle light ceremonies, and ride around to look at Christmas lights.

Instead she isn’t sure if she will be able to celebrate Christmas with Myles because of quarantine restrictions, she is no longer able to work her job, and all of her energy is used to try and brighten a smile for Myla as she bravely faces Chemotherapy.

Friends, I am broken over this. But no matter the tears, I will join Carmen in this fight and I would like to ask you to stand beside us.

If you would like to make a donation to help support her, please do.  Her gratitude will be endless.

If you would like to join us in prayer, please do. We are believing that God is working a miracle in Myla’s body and thru her life.

As I was writing this, Carmen sent this bible verse to pray over Myla.

Exodus 14:14 says “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Be still sweet girl, the Lord is fighting! WE are fighting!
