Tatum's Tale

Multiple generation law enforcement family needs help Hello everyone, I am setting up this page to help my oldest daughter and her husband with medical bills from my granddaughter Tatum's brain surgery and recovery. Tatum was born with a rare condition called an encephalocele. This means that she was born missing a portion of the skull between her eyes and a small part of her brain protruded through the opening. When she was two months old, the doctors at UNCCH made an incision from ear to ear, folded down the skin, removed the excess tissue, and rebuilt her eye socket and sinus area. Her parents, Derek and Brandi Morris, have been incredibly strong through all of this and are the best parents that any little girl could ask for. Tatum's dad is a Raleigh PD officer, I am a Trooper, and her Great Grandpa is a retired Trooper. Tatum is a fighter and a tough little one. Last Friday morning, Tatum had a seizure and was rushed to UNC hospital. She is currently on a ventilator and is sedated. The doctors have attempted to remove the breathing tube to allow her to breathe on her own, but there were complications and she had to be reintubated. She has been in the PICU for three days and it is unknown how long she will be in the hospital. I was talking to a trusted brother about how hard it will be for them to deal with the mounting medical bills, when my friend looked at me and said, "Danny you have always been there for everyone else and done many fundraisers. Why don't you do one for your granddaughter?" So, here it is folks. Her mom and dad would never ask for help, but I'm asking you to help my granddaughter, if you can. Let's make it easier for my daughter and son-in-law to be there to support little Tatum as she recovers from some very complicated health issues. Thank you and God bless Danny Jenkins
