Our pint-sized baby, Appa, has ended up with sepsis due to complications with her mega-sized colon. Right now, she is in the ICU for aggressive treatment to prevent organ failure and stabilize her enough for surgery. This surgery will remove part of her colon to prevent future crises like this from happening again. Any and all support is hugely appreciated; emergency vet bills aren't cheap and we have been told she'll need at least 5 days of hospitalization before surgery can occur.
Our baby girl is only 3 years old and we are fighting to make sure she gets to live a rich, full, and healthy life for many years to come. She's equal parts sweet and spunky, and her favorite things include extra-soft blankets to make biscuits on, the kitchen faucet dripping, and anything with butter as a main ingredient.
Brett adopted Appa after she was taken in at just 2 days old as a foster by our friend, Maria. He helped bottle feed Appa and she taught him how to be a true cat-dad for the first time. Rebecca and Brett actually first bonded over Appa in the early talking stages of their relationship, both being major cat and Avatar: The Last Airbender fans. We have so much to thank Appa for, and we thank you for helping us fund her ICU stay! - Rebecca and Brett
