Marcy was diagnosed with HER-2 breast cancer in December 2022. HER-2 is fast-growing cancer, therefore, she started chemotherapy, which included six treatments that she recently finished last week. The next step is another PET scan to see how much cancer has shrunk or what it looks like now and then talk with the surgeon about surgical options. Once the surgery is set up and complete, upon healing from the surgery, she will start radiation treatment to hopefully kill off whatever cancer cells are still there. Upon diagnosis, Marcy had five spots of cancer, two in her breast and three in her lymph nodes. Once the radiation is complete and more scans are taken, Marcy will then start to take Estrogen pills likely for the remainder of her life to prevent the growth of more cancer as her body will continue to produce HER cells. She also goes to the hospital two-three times each week for lab work and typically receives potassium, magnesium and sometimes red blood cell transfusions.

Marcy had been working full-time up until January 2023 when the treatments began to make her ill. She is a single mom of 12-year-old L.J. and 10-year-old Lilly. Her goal is to return to work full-time as soon as possible. The money raised will assist Marcy with all of her medical needs as well as the basic daily needs of raising her family.
