Steven's medical Journey

Hi, my name is Amber, Steven's annoying little sister (in his words). I would like to raise money for him again while he is admitted to hospital and off of work.

Steven was diagnosed with necrotizing pancreatitis last summer, and ended up in hospital for 4 long months. Throughout the duration of last years hospital admission, he required multiple surgeries for stenting of his pancreas as well as debriding. Unfortunately, there was some internal trauma from either the dead tissue or the debriding, or possibly both, and this has led to a very serious complication for Steven called Chylous Ascities.

1.5 weeks ago, Steven ended up septic, whith an acute kidney injury. This has resolved, however it doesn't stop there. Since Steven's admission he developed another bacterial infection, an internal yeast infection, and hyponatremia. He is currently on TPN, which is where he gets his nutrition via IV. Most recently Steve has had a drain placed in his abdomen so that he can stop being poked regularly for the drainage of the fluid he continues to accumulate in his abdominal cavity.

For those of you who know my brother well, you know how stubborn he is. Right now, he is extremly unwell but just wants to get home. When I asked him why, he was extremly worried about his finances, which broke my heart because right now his health needs to be the priority. When Steve gets home there's a possibility that he will require a monthly injection that will cost approximately $1800.00 each.

Steve has a long road to recovery, whether he wants to admit it or not!!
