Hi there, We’re looking for some support to get our little business Lily and the Angel back on her feet again. I wasn’t sure a go fund me page was the right direction to go but after announcing that we have to close we received so much love and support from our customers telling us that we had to re open, that we couldn’t give up the dream and had to find a way to keep going and that no matter where we went they would continue to support us. I was absolutely blown away by the love that our little space had generated. We put everything we had financially into the set up of this business and we are unable to do that again.. I’d taken no wages from the business at any time but loved every minute of getting to know all our regulars and gaining visibility in our area but this hasn’t allowed for any back up fund for situations such as this. Most of you are aware of the rollercoaster we’ve been on due to the lease issues we have had ( explained fully a post within our social media if you’d like the full story) which resulted in all of our 2.5 yrs of hard work building up the most beautiful community focused coffee and cake shop closing down. The majority of people who will be reading this already know me, but for those who don’t, I’m Kelly, barista/baker/photographer and heart behind Lily and the Angel. We (my family and myself) moved to Australia 8 years ago with the dream of creating the most beautiful welcoming coffee space, filled with delicious home made cakes created from recipes passed down in my family, Lily had been in my head and in my heart for over 14 years, and is named after my Nana who taught me to bake along with my mum when I was a child.That dream was finally made a reality two and a half years ago when I accepted an offer to share premises with a florist. But due to the requirement of her own businesses progression moved out of the space 3 months ago, resulting in us hoping to take over the lease, which turned out to be where everything went downhill and the dream we had created evaporated into thin air. Lily and the Angel is more than just a coffee shop, it’s beautiful space that embodies the feeling of home. If you’ve ever visited us then you’ll know what I mean when I say that, it’s the feeling you get when you go to Nanas house and there’s something delicious baking in the oven, a place that’s safe for you to be you, where you can sink into a comfy armchair and the world just stops.Were unable to continue in our current location but are hoping to re locate to another beautiful place but in order to do this we need some help.We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the basic requirements for our new space, council application, bond & tradie costs.We would be grateful for any contribution to these fees, anything at all would be massively appreciated in order to help get our Lily back up and running.
