A Beautiful Soul…Ronald Anthony Willis – The originator of “The 4 Willises” (aka Ron, Bridgette, Autumn, Amber)
Dear Family, Friends, Associates and those who care,
This is not an easy task putting forth a hand and asking for help. But, because of the circumstances, I must do just that.
My brother, Ronald Anthony Willis, was an awesome son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend and co-worker.
Ronnie was a strong man who love God and Family (in that order)
He loved to talk – but can’t anymore
He loved to walk – but can’t anymore
He loved to smile – but can’t anymore
He loved to lead people to Christ – but can’t anymore
He loved to provide – but can’t anymore
He loved to share – but can’t anymore
He loved to embrace – but can’t anymore
Why? Because Ronald’s body has succumb to the devastating effects of multi-organ failure, after being placed at Memorial Regional South Seasons Hospice and Palliative care facility. This is a place where he, nor the family thought he was destined for as we were all preparing for therapy, rehab and an eventual return home with the family.
With each passing day:
We saw him slipping away.
We saw his vitals falling.
We saw him no longer being alert and responsive.
He no longer moans in agony.
He no longer requests therapy.
He no longer requests nourishment.
He no longer reaches out for a kiss.
We no longer hear him ask every single person who crosses his path, his favorite question, “Saved?”(This was his way of inquiring if the person in his presence had given their life over to Christ).
He has now been ushered into his heavenly home with the Lord, whom he loved dearly.
Ronnie was a provider for his family. But when he was stricken over eight years ago, that all stopped. The family’s credit rating has been drastically affected. Savings accounts were diminished to negative as my sister was left struggling to make ends meet – while still helping the girls make it through college. Around the same time as Ronnie’s declining health began, my sister (his wife) Bridgette, lost her long time banking career due the economic downturn. With Bridgette’s job went everything – including a $150,000.00 spousal insurance policy that she had for Ronnie. And now that he has passed, the Social Security Disability check that she was able to successfully secure for him (after many fights with Social Security and thanks to an understanding judge), will cease immediately.
Bridgette and the girls are having to pack up the house now because Bridgette will have to move out of her rented space due to loss of funds. She has no money to replace the old clunker of a car that she has been driving for the past eight years and is in need of a dependable form of transportation. She has yet to rest, take one break or one vacation in the past eight years as she and her mother-in-law have been Ronnie’s primary caretakers day and night.
Ronnie was a cheerful giver and he loved to help others who were less fortunate. And I know he would certainly appreciate if you will step in to provide in ways that he no longer can. Consider lending your support to restore what has been lost, to provide for this family for not only the memorial expenses but also for the upcoming financial responsibilities that my sister must now take on.
I know that there are many stories that are untrue. But Ronnie’s story is real and it is from the heart. I ask that you please find it within your heart to contribute to this GoFundMe for the Willis Family. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated.
We appreciate what you will give, even before you do.
Thank you. Thank you Thank you. In the name of Jesus, Thank you!!!!
