They say bad things come in threes… but for me, it feels like I’m already on my sixth, and I don’t know how much more I can take.
First, my car broke down (again). Then, not long after, I lost my job at The Home Depot, where I had been working for years. Just two weeks later, I was in a terrible bike accident that left me with a fractured spine (C4 & C5), a broken clavicle, and a fractured rib. My bike was my only way to get around, but when I crashed, the police had it impounded. By the time I got out of the hospital, the fees were over $900 — money I simply don’t have.
I’m doing everything I can — I’ve applied for jobs, signed up for government assistance, and I’m trying to stay strong. But these things take time, and right now I’m at a breaking point.
I never thought I’d have to ask, but I need help. Anything you can give will go toward helping me get back on my feet, cover my most urgent expenses, and give me a chance to heal without the constant fear of losing everything.
How donations will be used:
Rent & safe housing: to keep a roof over my head while I heal
Food & basic necessities: so I can focus on recovery, not hunger
Transportation: bike/car repairs or a replacement so I can get to work when I’m able
Medical & recovery costs: anything not covered by assistance, plus daily needs while I recover
As a small way to give back, I’d like to create an art piece as a thank-you to donors once I’m able to. The size and complexity of the piece will depend on the donation, but no matter what, it will come from the heart. I don’t want to just take — I want to give something back in gratitude.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story, sharing, or helping however you can. Every little bit truly means the world to me..
