The city of Boise has spoken & they want to see dancers fly!
Ophidia Aerialists are ready to share their art with the community. I’m SuChen Gee, the owner of Ophidia Studio & I want to make this happen!
While there are many dance styles and performances to be enjoyed throughout Idaho, aerial dance is a unique – and growing – art form that features performers using fabric suspended from rigging. In order to make that possible- we have to be safe!
To protect my performers, I follow very specific parameters of how and where to install hardware from which our fabric – and performers – will hang. Flying at heights 12'-20' high, rig points must be structurally safe, with at least a 1 – 1.5 ton load rating. I am getting many, many requests for performances and workshops outside our home studio, and our Aerial Performance Group would like nothing more than to fulfill these wishes. (This group is ready to host workshops as soon as this spring, at events including Idaho Green Fest, TreeFort, and the like) And, we’d love to host no-cost interactive workshops at various parks and events within the Boise community—and throughout Idaho. A rigging unit would make this possible.
Ophidia Studio’s Aerial Performance Group is comprised of both professional aerialists and students-in-training. To perform, teach and share aerial dance is my goal and my passion. A rigging unit provides an unparalleled opportunity to introduce this beautiful art form to as many people as possible.
Help us Bring Aerial Dance out of our studio and into the community in Spring 2016 by donating today!!
We have been invited to participate in community events this spring 2016 and if we can purchase an aerial rig, then we will be able to bring aerial arts to the Boise public! Thank you so much for your consideration to donate to our cause!
Sincerely,
SuChen
