Hi! My name is Norma Garcia and I am a rising senior at Bright Star Secondary Charter Academy in Los Angeles, California. Being a first generation low-income Latina, I know that my resources for college access can be limited, but that has never discouraged me from excelling in my academics. Recently, I was presented with an opportunity to study abroad at the University of Cambridge over the summer for an entire month. During my time at the university, I will be studying Psychology, Law, and Behavioral Economics. In addition to that, I will also be able to explore Cambridge and London.

I am beyond excited to immerse myself in this once in a lifetime opportunity in a wildly new environment with students from all over the world. I cannot wait to delve deeper into the subjects I find interesting with the most talented educators in the world. Although the program tuition is covered by my scholarship I do need to fundraise $2,000 for additional cost that the program doesn’t cover.
