Hello, My name is David Whitehead and I am setting up this GoFund Me for my dad Charlie Whitehead. Charlie was among the thousands of folks who lost their homes and everything in them to Hurricane Ian on Fort Myers Beach, Florida, last week. Like many of his generation (he's 65), my dad is ENTIRELY too proud and stubborn to ever ask for help for anything. Ever since the storm, he has been working to help the older folks on his street with the arduous cleanup. He hasn't and won't stop to help himself. He is the personification of the old "Give you the shirt off his back" idiom. Even though he'd probably be pissed at me for doing this, I worry about him and want to help him.
