Help Max Find a Home
Donation protected
This is Max, my foster dog. Max comes from northern Ontario and ended up in the care of Pet Save which is a Sudbury based rescue organization. Max is probably a little over a year old, likely a mix of shepherd and husky, with a little mystery mutt thrown in.
Max is a big beautiful boy in search of his forever home. He has been my foster since February and sadly hasn't received a single application! Max only spent a bit of time in previous foster care before spending most of his time in the shelter. You see, Max is a big boy who still acts like a puppy and had picked up some bad behaviours here and there. Max needed a foster home where he could learn to be his best self with consistency, trust, rules and boundaries.
Max has come so far from the dog that I met back in February, but even the most well meaning of humans have to acknowledge when something is beyond our scope. Which is where this fundraiser comes in. I know my limitations, and while Max has made amazing progress, my goal is to make him the most adoptable dog he can be! So, I've enlisted the help of a local trainer to work with me, and Max, to take him to the next level.
Those of you who work or volunteer in animal rescue know that they are always struggling to raise funds to cover the cost of all the amazing work they do, so I knew if I wanted to take the route of professional training with Max I would have to pay out of pocket. Yes, I believe in him that much!
Heres where YOU come in. You can help me help Max by donating to his training. While I agreed to pay out of pocket, any help towards this expense is greatly appreciated. I work hard and, as with most people these days, money is pretty tight. So far it's been a few of my side hustles bringing in the extra for training. You can also help by sharing this page, the more people that lay eyes on this majestic beast, the greater the chance he finds his forever home. I know it's out there...could it be you?
And to answer that burning question that's on the tip of your tongue....no, I am not keeping Max, I can't. My life is not compatible with keeping a dog like Max, he needs more for his future than my crazy life can offer. And after losing my soul dog, I'm just not ready for another forever dog just yet. Fostering is a rewarding yet tough endeavor, but you need to go into it knowing you are but a stepping stone to get them to their forever home. And I'm so invested in Max finding his that I'm willing to give it my all.
And here's a bonus, the trainer has offered to come to any meet and greets to show you everything Max has learned, and if you adopt Max, he will also throw in an hour of training for free!
Any funds raised beyond what's needed for his training (we've already got 7 hours under our belt!) will go to Pet Save to help more dogs in their journey to forever home. Any donations are so very appreciated (insert sad Sarah McLaughlin song here) and everyone who donates will have their name entered for a basket full of all kinds of goodies.
Max will make someone very happy, he will become someone's soul dog, and with the tools he's accumulating through training, he'll be the bestest boy.
