Isaac needs a new walker
Donation protected
Shawn Isaac Beliveau was born on September 28, 2010. He was the most precious baby any proud parent could hope for. Isaac developed normal up until he was about one year old. He was able to walk around holding onto furniture, however was very unstable and would often fall. Isaac was about a year and a half when we got an MRI of his brain and realized his cerebellum was really small. He is battling a rare condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. The cerebellum is a very important part of the brain that controls motor function. Because Isaacs Cerebellum is much smaller than most children his age, he has many physical barriers to overcome. Aside from physical limitation Isaac faces every day, his speech is also delayed. Isaac sometimes has a hard time expressing himself and communication with people. Isaac is unable to ambulate unassisted and has to use a gait trainer to get around. Despite his daily struggles, he is one of the happiest, most determined children we know. He works hard in his therapies as well as school, he is always willing to try his best. Our goal is to educate others on this rare condition and work as a community to help Isaac get the funding for therapy he needs. Normal daily tasks such as walking and talking or even putting on a sock may seem so simple to us, this is a daily struggle for Isaac.
*He currently needs a new walker as he is out growing the one he has and needs funding for numerous types of therapy such as physical, occupational, horse therapy and speech therapy. His parent's work hard and their health insurance only covers a limited amount. Let's work together to help fund Isaac and get him to walk and talk and be able to do simple things that you and I can do. *
