Dear Friends of Tina Johnson,

On behalf of all Friends of Tina Johnson, and with Tina’s approval we share some delicate personal information with you concerning her recent battle with Breast Cancer. Although many of you may already know Tina was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this last Summer 2021. The diagnosis was devastating, emotionally and physically; the fear of the unknown, and finding the right doctor and medical treatment plan has created a financial hardship for Tina and her family. Again, Tina finds herself in the midst of a battle (as she has fought for many of us), and this time the battle she faces is to save her life.

Travel and hotel expenses to Los Angeles, and the cost to purchase medical equipment she needed for the chemotherapy treatments has far exceeded the help she has received from family and friends so far.  Her treatments are a 2 day experience, with one 6 hour day of treatment and then returning the next day for a 2 hour hydration and an immune boost shot. The cost of hotel, gas and food add up fast. The Cold Cap alone was $3,000.00. She will need several more chemotherapy treatments, a surgery, and follow up care until she is at a stable place health wise. Although her diagnosis and medical treatment thus far has been stressful, Tina continues daily to serve her colleagues, family and friends for which is a testament to her limitless loyalty and dedication towards us all.

Tina has proven to be a friend and asset of Bakersfield College, CSEA, and KCCD – Let’s get together during her time of need and show her our appreciation for the years of devotion, friendship and support. Let’s show Tina the same kindness and compassion she has shown to countless others and help provide her with some financial support to help her and her family through their financial hardship.
