Hello, my name’s Samantha. While my tuition will be much more, I only put $1,500 because to me that still feels like a lot of money to get from kind hearted people donating. I contemplated creating this because while I am one of those people that loves to give to others, it’s hard for me to accept help from other people. After receiving an abundance of messages reaching out wanting to help me and advising me to accept their support, I decided to make this gofund me. I am one of 5 kids in my family, and have been working extremely hard for college over the past four years. I’ve done everything I can from working as much as I could, taking as many honors/AP classes as possible, and even falling asleep in textbooks while studying to keep a 5.3 weighted GPA. I saved up as much money as I could and enrolled at UofL with my twin sister. While I didn’t receive much in terms of fasfa or scholarship money, my savings and loans still made attending the perfect school possible. Now that I no longer have those savings, I’m at risk of not being able to make my initial fees to attend UofL. My plan is to make it through this first semester or year, and if I am unable to find more funds I will transfer to a community college or UIC. While I feel extremely guilty making this, I need to learn when to accept the generosity and love of others. Whether it’s $5, a penny, or even just a comment on my tiktok, I would like to thank you so much for your support. I will continue to think of your generosity every time I step into a classroom.
