Our great Friend and Rescue Goddess Deirdre Russell has had quite a setback with getting hospitalized and can really use our help. While she’s on the road to recovery it’ll be a bit of a long haul with long term bed rest, upcoming surgery and lots more rest and she will be out of work for quite some time. Deirdre and Family have earned everyone’s respect and admiration by dedicating so much of her time to helping Rescue dogs in need. Never saying “no or can’t be done”, Deirdre is the greatest unsung hero planning Transport for dogs coming from Shelters or Owner Surrenders and working miracles getting them safely to a Rescue. Many nights waiting in parking lots at 1am for a dog to arrive by Transporters or herself driving 12-18 hours and taking the confused pups to her home for loving overnight stays before going to their Rescue group. Chances are if you Adopted a dog from WAMAL (and other Rescues too) in the past three years she was the one who got your pup to them. Single handedly Deirdre linked together an outstanding network of Transport professional resources to get a Rescue dog anywhere in the US. Please be generous and share, she so deserves our help.
