Look at this face! For those who know Oso, this face says everything! Oso is a taco loving, fetch obsessed beach baby with a contagious enthusiasm and grin. To spend a minute with him is to understand he is such a special guy, and he will tell you about it with vocal talents! Oso was born in Mexico and found his forever home in Danielle and Mellanie. His first beach day and a hamburger later and it was official!
Oso had an exceptionally joyful puppyhood with his sister, Skyler, and pals. He displayed no symptoms of any underlying disease for two years. On May 4th, 2019, Oso had a seizure. After a trip to the ER, he was discharged with the hope it was a strange and passing event; however, the seizures only increased in frequency over the next several months leading to his current diagnosis, Idiopathic Epilepsy.
Idiopathic Epilepsy has a genetic origin and is typically managed with a combination of medications. However, choosing the right combination of drugs can be a lengthy and costly process which is where they find themselves now. Oso has been experiencing cluster seizures (2 or more within a 24-hour period) which have required several overnight emergency stays while his medical team works to keep him stable and adjusts his medications. Finding the right combination of medications is imperative for him right now and will set him up for successful long-term management of his disease.
Your donations will help alleviate the myriad stresses associated with this relatively recent change in all of their lives and will help them immensely with current medical bills ($10,000) as well as on-going expenses such as medications, cleaning, daycare for Oso which allows Danielle and Mellanie to continue working so they don’t fall too far behind, etc.
Danielle and Mellanie are committed to providing Oso with the care he needs. They need our help to make that possible. Please share and consider donating any amount and know that it will be a huge support to some really incredible people and a pup. Thank you!!
