PLEASE HELP BABY KAONA AND HER FAMILY

Donation protected
I have made this go fund me for the Booski family. They are hard working good people trying to raise a family.

They have recently been challenged with what will most likely be the hardest trial of their lives…

This is their story.

7 months ago Keela & Brandon found out they would be welcoming their third child to the world Due September 10th. As you can imagine they were absolutely elated!

The pregnancy was going well and developing as it should, they found out they would be welcoming their first daughter to the world, everyone was happy and her brothers couldn’t wait to welcome home a little sister.

Fast forward to the last week of June….. Keela was starting to feel unwell, experiencing severe headaches and just overall not feeling healthy.

Keela called her OB & spoke with the secretary explaining her symptoms and what was going on, the secretary ensured her she would speak directly with the OB Dr and get back to her soon.

Keela never heard back and assumed everything was fine and maybe she just needed to rest , drink more water & take it easy.

On June 29th Keela & her husband Brandon took their boys swimming trying to have a normal day with the family. Keela was struggling and feeling extremely unwell. They called health link looking for some answers and were told Keela needed to get herself to the hospital right now.

Keela & Brandon arrived at the RedWater Hospital on the evening of June 29th. Where they learned Keela’s blood pressure has risen to 212/140 & her liver proteins have also risen to a dangerous level of over 400. They immediately started medical treatment trying to bring her blood pressure and liver proteins down to avoid seizures, stroke & blood clots.

RedWater Hospital did everything they could to help… But it wasn’t enough and they decided to transfer Keela by ambulance to the Alexandra Hospital for further treatment trying desperately to stop these elevations.

After two days of being hospitalized more testing is showing Keela’s placenta is no longer working properly and they were now monitoring the situation even closer hoping to continue with the pregnancy.

However the baby’s heartbeat started to become very erratic and unstable. It was no longer safe for the baby or mother to continue on with the pregnancy.

The decision was made for an emergency caesarean. As you can imagine this is a terrifying & traumatic situation for the entire family.

Their beautiful daughter Kaona was born at 29 weeks 6 days old, she is healthy but she is very tiny ( born at 1lb 14oz) and has a long road ahead of her.

Keela remained in the hospital for an additional week for medical treatment but has been released.

Baby Kaona can’t come home & has to remain at the Alexandra NICU until realistically her due date September 10th 2024.

Keela is unable to return to work due to medical reasons , they are now down to 1 income and in this day and age that’s no where near enough for a family of 5 to live.

They are also hours away from the Hospital that their new born Kaona currently resides in. With gas prices being through the roof transportation costs are taking a huge chunk of money , along with the cost of food and lodging it’s becoming way too expensive.

Like any Mother out there being with your newborn is extremely important.

Baby Kaona needs her parents to be able to be there. To love , encourage & bond with her to have that skin on skin contact our infants need.

The bond between a mother and child is unmistakable & unmatched by anything in this world, let’s try and make it possible for them to be together to build these bonds & share their love.

I’m hoping the good people of this world will step forward and help this family out! Lord knows if I were in that situation I would hope & pray to the heavens someone would help me!

Let’s try and make this part of life a little bit easier for the entire family
