"Soapes dreams up in smoke"

On Sunday morning, 1/12/2020, one of our coworkers of 20+ years driving the Alamosa School Bus, Donnie Soapes and his wife Pam experienced a devastating fire in their "Now RV Home".  A propane leak below the RV caught a spark and within minutes was filled with flames and smoke- what was not consumed by the fire was destroyed as the fire department extinguished the flames in a relatively small space.   The Soapes originally invested in this RV as a large part of their retirement dream and quickly came to rely on the vehicle as a more permanent type of residence on and off the road.  To accommodate their new found gypsy lifestyle, they had downsized their lives to mainly things that could fit into the RV and insurance will only cover a portion of the totaled vehicle/home and all their possessions.  Not to mention will not be able to replace the time, energy and customization's that they made to make it cozy. This terrible event has left Donnie and Pam shocked, disheartened, and with an unsettled outlook being unsure how to rebuild from here.  Throughout this they remain optimistic and are now beginning the next steps to rebuild the dream.
