Help Storm Damaged Seal Sanctuary!

The Dingle Wildlife & Seal Sanctuary is a 24/7 volunteer run rescue centre for both Harbour & Grey seals that are found in distress from around the entire coast of Ireland, along with other wildlife in the locality. Wildlife that is injured, sick or orphaned are rescued and admitted to the sanctuary for rehabilitation, which is a costly job with high fish bills and veterinary costs along with other overheads.

The aim for every animal in care is to get them fit and healthy as quickly as possible so that they can be released back into their natural habitat.

Sadly this winter the sanctuary has taken a serious beating from huge storms with wind strengths as strong as hurricanes. The latest storm completely destroyed the facility, with enclosure fences blown away, kennels broken up and boardwalks turned to piles of rubble. The sanctuary is no longer fit for purpose as it stands.

With this winter being the busiest season yet with a larger than ever number of rescued animals coming through the doors due to the storms, the sanctuary has no funding to rebuild or relocate in this emergency situation. Please help us raise much needed funding urgently so that the sanctuary can get back on its feet and finish off this tough winter season, with some of the current patients in care in critical condition we are desperate.

Thank you!

Here is an example of the great work the sanctuary does. Video of one of the Grey Seals "Casper" who arrived at the sanctuary tiny and badly injured, after successfully completing the rehabilition process and being released back into the ocean!
