My name is Sandy Powell and I am raising money to assist our friend, Ray Carpenter. Ray was diagnosed with brain cancer recently and just had surgery to remove the tumor. He is in the hospital in Tacoma and will begin physical therapy to learn to speak and walk again, along with radiation and chemotherapy. His wife Maria has been by his side and has been traveling to Tacoma daily. She has taken a leave of absence from her job and once Ray is rehabilitated and is able to go home, she will continue with her leave of absence to take care of him. These funds will help with all the extra expenses Ray has and will continue to incur while he is recovering.

Ray is a great friend and a community member. He is a much loved Harbor master for the Port of Kingston and has helped a lot of people in the community, the Kingston Yacht Club and many other Yacht Clubs in the area. He was nominated Person of the Yesr last year and recognized at the 4th of July celebration in Kingston. Any donation would be appreciated and help during these difficult times.
