Moving Tragedy - Belongings Lost

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask for your help. I know the world is struggling and everyone has things to be worried about, any help would be great if you can help them..
My Brother and Sister in law recently uprooted their whole family to take on a great job opportunity thousands of miles from home. They had contracted a mover who subcontracted some of the move to another company. This was back in January. They left from Idaho to Houston. One of the trucks with their belongings made it, but unfortunately the other truck has never shown up. Two Thirds of their belongings are gone, disappeared and vanished. They have been calling and emailing the subcontractor for months, and no answer. No one knows where any of their belongings are. They estimate total loss to be well over 20,000 dollars worth of earthly possessions. The worst is irreplaceable things like pictures and family heirlooms. We want to help them get the basic necessities they need to help them get back on their feet. They didn't have moving insurance, and the companies aren't willing to pay. So they are lost. Please see what you can do to help this extraordinary family that would literally do anything to help another. God bless and thanks for your generosity.
My sweet sister in laws thoughts: "It’s a pretty devastating day here today.
Getting all of our things from the moving company that was supposed to move us from Idaho to Texas (3 1/2 months ago) has been a complete nightmare. We have been told now, that two-thirds of all of our belongings are considered lost or stolen. (We have most of our furniture and little else.)
To our kids, it feels like it might as well have been a house fire. They’re already missing their friends and our families, but now with all of the disruption of the pandemic on top of that, having their personal possessions would have gone a long way. They are literally mourning the loss of their beloved stuffie collections, books, toys, lego sets and nerf guns. Our daughter is missing her play kitchen and play food and dresses and dolls. Trying to tell them that the things they’ve been waiting and asking for won’t make it here was awful.
To Erick and I, it feels like we’ll never be able to afford replacing all that has been taken, and there’s so much that was priceless that can never be replaced in any case. Without our computer, laptop and external hard drive, we no longer have any photos or videos of our kids that predate the storage on our phones. Like the rest of the country, we’re trying to homeschool right now, and we feel handicapped without a computer and printer.
We have lost a lot - we’re missing keepsakes, heirlooms, holiday decor, home decor, tools, a lawn mower, camping equipment, crafting supplies and on and on and on - but mostly it’s the basics that we need the most.
We literally didn’t get a single thing from our kitchen - from silverware and salt and pepper shakers to our KitchenAde stand mixer, Instant Pot, pots and pans and everything in between. We don’t have 90% of our linens and blankets, no sheets for the boys’ beds (which we have also had to replace) - we’ve replaced the necessities as inexpensively as we could and done without, feeling hopefull that we’d get by until our things finally got here.
I was about to start work as a substitute teacher right before the pandemic blew up, and we really needed the income. We have a lot of medical expenses with our 9yo’s Type 1 Diabetes, and we’re struggling to make ends meet.
We know the whole world is going through a really trying time right now. We’re grateful that it’s only *stuff* that we’ve lost and not a loved one. There is so much to be grateful for and so much that is so easily taken for granted. Thanks for thinking of us, we’re sending up prayers that the whole wide world gets back to normal quickly, with as little loss as possible at this point. <3 <3. <3
Please help me get her most basic things replaced, she may never see those cherished treasures again but anything can help to get them back on their feet. Thank you for your thoughts and support.
