On the Morning of Saturday 28th September, so many people’s world was shattered when they learned that they had lost a Husband, a father, an uncle, a brother. Mark was sadly taken too soon and without warning. As you can imagine, the whole of the Fleming family is shocked and grieving. Mark left behind a beautiful wife and 3 gorgeous children and as you can imagine were not prepared for such a thing. We have set this page up to support the family through what can only be described as anyone’s worst nightmare and would appreciate any contributions that you can make.
For those of you that didn’t know Mark… How unlucky you were… What man! This guy had the biggest heart. He bled Drighlington Rugby and all 3 of his children continue to follow in his footsteps. Mark has been a huge part of Drig Rugby for many years – Having played there himself, to stepping up and coaching the u11’s girls. This guy has volunteered his time to support all ages at our Rugby Club and was always on the sideline cheering everyone on! When people couldn’t make game day – he made sure you could watch - live streaming the matches.
Outside of Rugby Mark was so family orientated. As we all look through his Facebook, all his reels are days with “the family” the family being his Rugby community. He looked after everyone, made sure you laughed when all you wanted to do was cry, encouraged you, when you just wanted to quit. Got you home safe when you had, had a few too many bevy’s. Served his country in the armed forces. For anyone that did know him… You’ll all know how wacky that dress sense was…. But no one could carry off an illuminous pair of orange trainers, while drinking a Guinness Zero off like this guy could.
I guess what the above notes is that Mark done his bit to look after “the family” and now it’s our turn to return the favour. Let’s support this beautiful family through such a sad time – It’s time for the rugby community to pull together and do what it does best. Look after their own.
