Help Dane recover his health

Story

You may know Dane as an amazing dog groomer. He is dedicated to the animals he cares for, and the customers he serves. Maybe you have been one of Dane's customers over the years and witnessed the love he delivered to your fur baby (aka doggy, pooch, or K-9).But Dane is also much more than a groomer and business owner. He is a fun-loving and easy-going brother, a loving father to Dakota and husband to Danielle, and a “will give you the shirt off his back” kind of friend.Unbeknownst to many, Dane also has a mental illness called schizoaffective disorder. He has successfully been managing his illness and fully engaged in his treatment process with few side effects since he was diagnosed approximately 10 years ago. Unfortunately, this past December he suffered a major psychotic break. His Christmas and New Years were plagued by delusion, confusion, and chaos. We believe this was due to a combination of overworking himself and forgetting to follow his medical regimen. We will spare you the details of all that ensued during that time. However, he was admitted to three different hospitals at three separate times in an attempt to stabilize him, although it would appear that he did not receive sufficient care in any of them. We assume this was a direct result of hospitals generally being poorly funded for mental health treatment and overcrowded. Therefore we are seeking your help to get him into treatment as soon as possible!Dane is an honest, hard-working man!Far too often people with mental illnesses are judged as outcasts in society; or demonized in movies. These continuous stereotypes make it easy for society to forget to adequately care for such people. Dane is anything but an outcast or demon. Rather, he is a hard worker. He has dedicated over 20 years in the dog grooming industry, owning three successful businesses in his life, and contributing greatly to society. With the rise of this psychotic break, he has not been able to work and his family is now struggling to keep up with the ever-increasing medical bills as well as regular household expenses. Dane would love nothing more than to return to work and do what he loves. However, he first needs to care for his health and enter into treatment. We have researched and found a few treatment facility that costs approximately $10, 000 for 10 days of treatment. We are asking you to really help out your family, beloved groomer, and friend.Donating to this GoFundMe campaign would mean that you are not only supporting Dane but on a much larger scale, it would also mean that you are an advocate to helping people with mental illnesses gain/regain their ability to contribute successfully to society. In other words, you will be helping to change society’s trajectory on such individuals. If you can help Dane and his family with a small, medium, or large donation via this Go Fund Me page we will be ever grateful.Prayers are welcome! If you are not in a position to contribute financially, your prayers, good thoughts, and good vibes are most welcomed. We appreciate all the support.Spread the word! You can also help by spreading the word. As his brother, I also know on a deeper level how much Dane tries to meet people’s needs. That is why I want to help meet his needs. When he receives treatment, his family and I fully believe he will be able to return to a stable life again, bringing joy to both his family and community. Help my brother not be another statistic.
