Help JOEY my Nephew and his family

How does one begin to describe what it is like to see your whole life taken from you?

My Nephew Joey and our extended family went through a Life Changing event late February, which will leave lasting emotional scars. Joey was held in a Mexican Prison from February 20th to 27th, after being charged with having non consensual sex. This is the furthest from the truth.

The prison experience was unforgettable. The family and the lawyers spent days and nights tirelessly reviewing statements from the plaintiff, her friends, Joey’s friends and hotel staff. They also meticulously reviewed hours of surveillance footage trying to piece together exactly what happened.

On Thursday Feb 27, there was a proceeding where the defence was allowed to present their evidence to the presiding judge who would determine whether to initiate a trial.

The Judge "ruled that the evidence against the accused is null and void." Further " As for the rest of the evidence, the judge ruled that SUCH demonstrates that the conduct never occurred as was told by the victim and her witnesses."

Joey was released from his nightmare that night and is now home safe with his family in Canada.

We are trying to raise money to help the family recoup the funds paid to the Mexican Legal Team to get Joey released and also to provide mental health support for the family.
