My name is Dawn Beauchamp and I have been diagnosed with refractory Myasthenia Gravis for 4 years now. My life is unrecognizable to what it once was. I am allergic to the most common treatment for MG, and can't take immunosuppressants due to idiopathic chronic pancreatitis. So, I've been receiving plasmapheresis 3 times per week since June, trying to stay ahead of the antibody production in my body. What brings me onto GoFundMe today is I finally, after 6 months of battling, got approved for a medication called Solaris. This medication is a miracle drug for many affected with MG, and I'm praying I will be one of those blessed patients. However, I just found out that in order to start the medication I have to pay my entire deductible, $5,000! This medication is a blessing but it comes at a cost of about $490,000/year for insurance companies! Yes, that is a half a million dollars! In all of the years I have been sick I have never asked for financial help from people, but I don't know what to do anymore. My body isn't going to take much more and I desperately need to get into remission. This medication is my only chance at this! Anything anyone can give will help me. I have applied for a grant through the company and will take this down if I'm approved.
