As you may have heard, Flounce Vintage had a truly awful flood recently due to pipes bursting in our building on Echo Park Ave. It was our third flood in 10 years.
Below is a video of the store the day of the flood.
We lost the majority of our merchandise. We had insurance but it barely covers the tip of our total loss.
Along with these damages, our new landlords have refused to give us a break on rent for the entire time the store has been out of commission. When we let them know that this was not fair, they gave us a three day pay or quit notice.
We've been at our location in Echo Park for over eleven years. We have loved being here. It was not our choice to leave but it seems we must. It's time for us to move to a new place, one that is safe and dry, where we can re-open and hopefully be even better than before. Here's the good news: we found a place! But In order to make this move possible, we need your help.
Here's what we need: some financial help to get the new place up and running and to hire a lawyer because the landlord has threatened us with a lawsuit for defamation for discussing this on the web. We also need your thoughts, good wishes and your help in spreading the word that we are moving. If there's anything else you can think of, we'd love to hear about it.
Thanks for being such a great community for eleven plus years.
We hope to be back up and running soon at our new home at 718 North Virgil Ave.
We hope to see you soon,
Flounce and Lisa
